Hu+Project

• What is Hu+?

Many of the schools in China’s rural and underdeveloped regions struggle with a severe lack of education resources, compared with their counterparts in urban and more developed regions. Launched in September 2015, Hu+ is a project that provides access to education to underdeveloped communities in China.

What does Hu+ do?

Through Hujiang’s online classroom, CCtalk, the Hu+ team helps disadvantaged schools develop a variety of online courses, and connects them with teachers and teaching resources from schools in more developed regions in China.

In 2016, Hu+ took a giant leap forward and connected these children to the rest of world.

• Hu+ Christmas Program

Jeanne, one of our exceptional Hujiang instructors, delivered a Christmas lesson to over 600 Chinese students. Via livestream, she showed the children her Christmas decorations at home and introduced her father, who dressed up like Santa Clause. For many, it was the first opportunity they had to learn about this western holiday.

• Hu+ Chinese New Year Program

The Chinese New Year sees the largest annual human migration in the world, as millions of migrant workers in China make the journey home from larger cities to visit their families in the countryside. Children and their families receive a much-needed break from school and work. This year, Hu+ seized this opportunity and provided rural children with a week’s worth of free English practice, from compassionate and dedicated Hujiang instructors.

The Hu+ project aims to give all children equal access to high-quality education, with the hope of helping them to learn, explore, and grow, regardless of their physical location and financial circumstances.

All of our Hu+ teachers are Hujiang part-time online teachers who volunteer their time outside of regular teaching hours.

We hope you will join is in making a difference in the lives of so many children!
